Can A Management Survey Cover A Refurbishment?
A management survey does not normally provide the intrusive investigation needed for refurbishment. The work area and proposed disturbance must be assessed against the existing survey scope. A competent surveyor can identify where a refurbishment survey is needed, including concealed materials, before contractors begin opening up walls, floors or ceilings.
Does All Asbestos Need Removing?
Asbestos removal is not automatically required for every asbestos-containing material. Material in good condition that is unlikely to be disturbed may be managed in place following a suitable assessment. Damage, poor protection or planned building work can change that decision, so the next step should follow the specific material and circumstances.
Can A Photo Confirm Asbestos?
A photo cannot confirm whether a material contains asbestos. Photographs can help explain the location, apparent condition and access arrangements, but reliable identification requires a representative sample and laboratory analysis. Avoid disturbing the material to take a better picture and explain any proposed building work when arranging the investigation.
